ProArteOHIO | Purcell’s London
Purcell’s London | Britain’s Exuberant Early Baroque
ProArteOhio (formerly Lancaster Chorale) has established its role as a vital force in choral music through the performance of diverse and demanding literature. Engaging the region’s leading professional vocal artists, the ensemble garners high praise for its beauty of tone, musical integrity, and remarkable blend.
Worthington Chamber Orchestra & Orlay Alonso
From stillness to dance — the title traces the exact arc of this program. The Worthington Chamber Orchestra opens its Resonant Masterworks season, and its year-long celebration of the 200th anniversary of Beethoven’s death, with Rimsky-Korsakov’s dazzling Capriccio espagnol and Manuel de Falla’s Nights in the Gardens of Spain, featuring guest pianist Orlay Alonso in one of the Spanish repertoire’s most richly atmospheric works. The concert culminates in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 in A major — the work Wagner famously called “the apotheosis of the dance,” and a fitting opening statement for a season built around his enduring legacy.

We open the Music at St. Mary season with a special preview of The Alonso Brothers’ Carnegie Hall debut next year, presented in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States. From Havana’s rumba halls to Harlem’s jazz clubs, this program traces the century-long conversation between Cuban and American music — a bicultural celebration of rhythm, memory, and freedom.

This collaborative event between Music at St Mary and St Mary School celebrates Hispanic students and the community while raising funds for the Endowment Fund and Tuition Assistance. Enjoy delicious Hispanic food, drinks, and a vibrant cultural experience with Flamenco dancing by Griset Damas-Roche and Orlay Alonso, along with performances by the Ballet Folclórico Xochihua. Bach Festival: The Well-Tempered Clavier
We begin this year’s Bach Festival with one of Johann Sebastian Bach’s most monumental works, The Well-Tempered Clavier (Book I), performed by acclaimed pianist Orlando Alonso. This collection of preludes and fugues, represents a pinnacle of musical architecture. Bach dedicated this masterpiece “for the glory of God and the education of fellow men.”
