About the Concert

LancasterChorale is thrilled to announce its Spring Concert, “Love Songs for Spring,” featuring the renowned Alonso Brothers as guest artists. Under the artistic direction of Dr. Stephen Caracciolo, this concert will be the final installment in our series celebrating romantic love.

The highlight of the evening will be a captivating performance of Johannes Brahms’ beloved Liebeslieder Waltzes. Composed in 1868, these enchanting love songs are a collection of pieces that beautifully capture the essence of affectionate poetry, soaring melodies, and the rich harmonic color associated with German Romantic vocal music.

Joining LancasterChorale on stage will be the esteemed Alonso Brothers Piano Duo, whose exceptional talent and artistry at the piano will undoubtedly elevate the concert experience. Their unique blend of musicality and passion will add an extra layer of depth and emotion to the already captivating Liebeslieder Waltzes.

In addition to Brahms’ masterpiece, the second half of the performance will showcase English and American part songs that express similar amorous intents. This diverse repertoire will provide a rich and varied musical experience for the audience, highlighting the universal theme of love.

“Love Songs for Spring” promises to be an evening of musical enchantment, offering a delightful fusion of choral and piano four-hand music. LancasterChorale invites music lovers of all ages to join us for this unforgettable concert that celebrates the power and beauty of love.
