About the Concert

We are excited to present a concert program featuring a unique recital of songs for mezzo-soprano and string quartet. The show’s star is the great Argentinian singer and current Doctoral student at The Ohio State University, Anabella Petronsi.  

The program will feature significant works such as “Camille Claudel - Into the Fire” and “Trois Chansons de Bilitis” by Claude Debussy, both expertly arranged by Jake Heggie. The concert will also include a special performance of “Il Tramonto” by Ottorino Respighi.  

Adding a local flavor to the event is Jake Heggie, the arranger of two of the pieces in the concert, who is a proud graduate of Bexley High School in Columbus, Ohio.  

The recital will also showcase the talents of brilliant OSU students and alumni, forming the stellar Cardinal Ensemble. The lineup includes Matt Kinnear and Vani Shukla on violin, Nora Dukart on viola, James McDermott on cello, with the enchanting Anabella Petronsi lending her voice and expertise to the performance.  

This event promises to be an unforgettable evening of music, bringing together local talent and an international star in a harmonious blend of classic and contemporary works. As a celebration of musical talent and passion, this concert is one you won’t want to miss.  

About Anabella Petronsi:

Anabella Petronsi is a highly acclaimed mezzo-soprano hailing from Argentina, known for her soulful and powerful performances. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate at OSU, further enhancing her wide-ranging repertoire that spans multiple genres and has graced many prestigious stages around the world.  

About Jake Heggie:

Jake Heggie is an esteemed composer and arranger, best known for his operas and songs. His ties to Columbus, Ohio, and his support of local talent make his involvement in this concert particularly meaningful.  

About OSU Students:  

The students from Ohio State University are rising stars in the world of classical music.
